A change of name, performed by an organisation with no letterhead

Why "Non-Sect"?yes, we noticed the name

Formerly Known As Benno's Sect

Or: the joke has already served its purpose

🦋

A note from the archive. Twenty-one documents in, this organisation has changed its name. A change of name is the single most bureaucratic act available to any institution: it requires a committee, a vote, minutes, new letterhead and a notification to the membership. We convened nothing, voted on nothing, recorded nothing and notified nobody, of whom there are none. The old name simply wore out and we stopped using it. It is the most efficient rebrand in recorded history and it cost nothing, which is also the annual budget.

A close photograph of a dark grey-brown cat asleep on her side on a woven grey sofa, one front paw folded up over her eyes and forehead, nose and whiskers pressed into the fabric, entirely relaxed.
Fig. 1 — the response of the membership to the change of name. The Non-Sect's only admitted leader was informed of the rebrand and reacted as photographed: she placed one paw over her face and did not open her eyes. She has held this position on every question ever put to her, including the founding, the archive, and whether we exist. See File MNK-001. Click to enlarge; she will not wake, and if she does, she will simply move to a warmer spot and take the decision with her.

No single window is the sky."

Formerly Known As "Benno's Sect"yes, we noticed the name

For a while, this corner of the internet was affectionately called Benno's Sect. The title was intentionally tongue-in-cheek — a playful poke at how easily humans like to organize themselves into camps, labels, and identities.

Ironically, the joke occasionally became the thing people noticed first.

So we let it evolve.

The plate as found: Benno's Sect. Four screws, two names, one door, and nobody guarding it. You may change the name of this organisation. You do not need permission and there is nobody to ask.

Both plates fit · nothing is enforced · you may change it back

We would like to note that the name changed itself. It was not rebranded, repositioned or rolled out. It simply stopped fitting, the way a coat stops fitting, and was left on the back of a chair. — the archive

Today we simply refer to it as the Non-Sect.

Not because we abandoned the humor, but because the joke has already served its purpose.

What is a Non-Sect?the complete administrative apparatus

A non-sect has:

Drawers opened 0 of 6 · items found 0

Six drawers. Nothing in any of them. This is not a filing failure — it is the filing system working perfectly, for the first time in the history of filing systems. — the archive

You are free to read everything, question everything, disagree with everything, or simply enjoy the artwork.

Four options · pick any · no form is generated

If something resonates, wonderful.

If it doesn't, that is equally welcome.

The response desk · both outcomes

The lamp is unlit and entirely unbothered about it. Two buttons. Please use whichever is true.

We have tested the desk extensively. Both buttons light the lamp. We checked the wiring on the assumption that this was a fault. It is not a fault. It is the only sentence in the whole document that had to be built to be believed. — the archive

Exploration over Conclusioncontemplations, not conclusions

Anohe.blue is an invitation to explore consciousness, creativity, symbolism, philosophy, play, technology, and the strange beauty of being alive.

Many articles contain contemplations rather than conclusions.

Some are playful.

Some are poetic.

Some are practical.

Some may contradict one another — and that is perfectly acceptable. Human understanding grows by exploring perspectives, not by collecting certainties.

The Sect · homepage "Nobody is in charge. As intended." Accepted
File MNK-001 · Minka "She runs the household completely. I was staff." Accepted

Two statements from our own archive. Both published. Both true. Neither withdrawn. There is no procedure for this because nobody wrote one.

Four pairs on the bench · all of them ours · none of them retracted

The Spirit of the Projecthold your ideas lightly

If there is one principle that quietly runs through everything here, it is this:

Hold your ideas lightly.

six windows · one sky · the sky does not end at the frame
Windows open0 Skies found1

Six shuttered windows in a wall. Each of them is described, by its owner, as the view.

Open them in any order · the sky was already there

The archive has held this position for some time in other words — beliefs are lenses; hold your maps lightly — and has never once put it this briefly. Two lines. We are annoyed about it and we have filed them anyway. — the archive

"Every perspective is a window.
No single window is the sky."

The Non-Sect simply offers another campfire where stories, questions, laughter, and the occasional cosmic printer joke can be shared.

the tea is imaginary · the conversation is real
Chairs in the circle0 Capacity Names taken0

A fire, already burning. Nobody lit it and nobody is tending it, and it has been going for some time. There is room. There has always been room; that is not generosity, it is simply a field.

Pull up as many as you like · the circle widens · nobody is counted at the door

Tea has been recorded as improving approximately 83% of existential inquiries. Status: still unconfirmed. The tea here is imaginary, which we assume does not affect the figure, since nobody has ever measured the real kind either. — the archive

Pull up a chair.

The tea is imaginary.

The conversation is real.
